- Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
- Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
- Prolactin
- Oestradiol
An imbalance in the body’s hormones can lead to low libido and/or fertility issues.
The follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) work together to trigger the release of an egg from the ovary, a process known as ovulation. Prolactin is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland, which hinders ovulation. Therefore, abnormally high levels of prolactin can cause difficulty in becoming pregnant.
Oestradiol is a hormone needed to maintain the eggs inside the ovaries. Abnormally high levels of oestradiol indicate an issue with the ovarian reserve.
