The ovarian reserve test will let you know how many eggs you have remaining and can help predict how likely it is that you will respond to IVF treatment.

The Ovarian Reserve test measures the Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH), which is a hormone secreted by cells in the developing eggs of women’s ovaries. This test checks whether you have more or less eggs than average for your age group.

You should take this test if:

  • Chromosomal abnormalities, such as Turner’s Syndrome
  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
  • Gene abnormalities, such as Fragile X
  • Endometriosis
  • Ovarian tumors
  • Chemotherapy/Radiation
  • Pelvic injuries
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Obesity

You can collect your sample at any point of your menstrual cycle.

If you are currently taking hormonal contraceptives, or have taken them in the last 3 months, this may affect the accuracy of your results.
